Euro-Asian Cooperation on Gaming (ECG) further extended its reach to other countries in Europe such as the Netherlands and Spain, through promotional blitzes conducted by its interim chairman, Efraim Genuino, and a contingent of ECG officers.
The purpose of the visits was to generate interest and create awareness on the organization as well as highlight its impact on the future of global gaming.
The delegation met and forged vital working relationships with key associations such as the European Casino Association.
The ECA represents the interests of almost 900 casinos and 76,000 employees across Europe. Founded in the early ’90s as the European Casino Forum, the ECA has gradually grown over the years and today includes members from the majority of the European Union’s member states and from Switzerland.
The ECA, chaired by Holland Casino Vice-President Ron Goudsmit, provides information and assessment of European Union policies on casinos, promotes awareness of the gaming industry to EU policy makers and stakeholders, and provides valuable input to decisions that affect the gaming, tourism and entertainment industries. It does not pursue any profit motive.
Among its members are Casinos Austria (Austria), Belgian Casino Federation (Belgium), Czech Casinos (Czech Republic), Casino Copenhagen (Denmark), Olympic Casino (Estonia), Grand Casino Helsinki (Finland), Casinos de France (France), DeSIA (Germany), Hellenic Casino Association (Greece), Hungarian Casino Association (Hungary), Casino de la Vallee (Italy), Casino 2000 (Luxemburg), Casinos Poland Ltd. (Poland), Associaçao Portuguesa de Casinos (Portugal), Asociación Española de Casinos de Juego (Spain), HIT Casino Group (Slovenia), Casino Cosmopol AB (Sweden), Swiss Casino Federation (Switzerland), Holland Casino (The Netherlands), and the British Casino Association (United Kingdom).
“We see the European Casino Association as an important partner in strengthening the bond between the European and Asian gaming industries. This visit has yielded very positive results, not the least of which was achieving the ECA’s support,” said Genuino.
Meanwhile, the group also met up with ECG founding member David Orrick, then Communication Director of Unidesa Gaming and Systems, and Sebastian Salat, Counseller Assessor of Grup Peralada, both based in Spain.
